Members of the Lions Club of Brighton today attended the Centenary of Anzac service held at the newly completed Remembrance Park in Brighton. We were tasked with cooking the BBQ for after the ceremony and during the sporting events which followed. The weather held out, despite the forecast and we cooked and served a total of 45kg of sausages in just over an hour for the hundreds of people who attended. It was a lovely service and we certainly hope we can be involved in the commemorations again next year.

A few months ago members at the Lions Club of Brighton Inc. were treated to a guest speaker from the Leukaemia Foundation. Kate spoke to members about the Worlds Greatest Shave among the other great work of the Foundation.
One of our members took it upon herself to get involved and has enlisted three others to take part as well. Courtney’s 6 year old daughter, 13 year old cousin and her 13 year old friend will all participate in the event with her.
Rather than just shave their heads, these four girls will each have 20cm of hair cut to donate to Salon Red’s Hair Bank. The hair will then be sent to a wig maker to be converted into wigs for those with cancer.
The Lions Club of Brighton will be assisting the ladies with the cost of haircuts as well as providing a donation of the profits of an upcoming event.
We would love for you to support the girls as well, you can donate through the link above or contact us if you would like to donate hair as well.
