Brighton Lions – not just BBQs, Car Shows and Carols

Gwen Harper - 08 March 2018

As hopefully most people will be aware, we’ve been running a number of events and activities in the Brighton municipality. Our club has been raising funds to help run Youth Mental Health First Aid courses for Grade 9 students, the first wave of which occurred in October last year, with the next two waves on schedule to run in Term 1 and Term 3 in 2018.

We are happy to announce that thanks to the tremendous community support of their last three events, they have a small amount of funds left over and will shortly be approaching our five local primary schools to ask for a school project that Brighton Lions can support that will have a lasting, positive impact on Brighton primary school children.

Brighton Lions is a small group of hardworking volunteers who believe that if you want to make the world a better place for us and future generations, it starts at home, in our local community, and in our schools.  We would be delighted for interested Brighton residents to attend one of their monthly meetings or chat to us at the canteen at Pontville Market – first Sunday of every month.
